Plans, billing, and your free trial

Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked, no credit card needed. A banner shows how many days you have left. When the trial ends, your data stays exactly where it is; the app simply asks you to pick a plan before you continue.

The Billing page (in the sidebar, owners only) is where everything happens:

• Pick your plan: Starter, Growth, or Scale, each with an annual option that gives you 2 months free. The first 100 paid accounts get founding prices ($47, $97, and $177 a month) locked for life; after that the list prices are $57, $127, and $197. Checkout happens on a secure Stripe page; we never see your card number.
• Manage billing: once subscribed, this button opens your Stripe billing portal for card updates, invoices, plan changes, and cancellation. Canceling stops future charges and your plan runs until the end of the period you paid for.
• Founding Member: the first 100 paying customers are marked Founding Members and keep their price for life, even when prices go up later.

What the plans limit: Starter is 1 business, 2 office users (more for $5/month each), and 5 field crew logins, with texting available as a $10/month add-on. Growth is 1 business with 5 office users and unlimited field crew, and adds your own texting number, crews with the Team Assignments board and printable crew sheets, time off tracking, and webhooks and Zapier; more office users are $5/month each. Scale is 1 location (more for $29/month each) with 10 office users and unlimited field crew, and adds email campaigns to smart customer segments, reactivation and referral campaigns, the workflow builder, job costing and profitability, advanced reporting with revenue by lead source, custom roles, and priority support. Accounts that bought Scale before September 23, 2026 keep the three locations they were sold. Leads, forms, quotes, contracts, invoices, and bookings are unlimited on every plan; nothing you capture or send is ever metered.

Additional businesses (Agency): Agency includes 5 businesses. Need more? The Billing page has an Additional businesses selector: $29/month each ($290/year on annual billing), prorated onto your existing subscription the moment you save, and your new limit is live immediately.

No HoundBell branding (Scale): on the Scale plan, the “Powered by HoundBell“ footer disappears from your booking pages automatically. Your clients see only your brand. (Trials, Starter, and Growth show the badge.)

If a payment fails, nothing locks immediately: Stripe retries the card and the app shows a warning so you can update it in Manage billing.

Leave any time, take everything: canceling is one click on the Billing page, no call and no form. Click Cancel my plan, read what happens, tick “I understand“, and your plan ends today with a prorated refund for the unused part of the billing period sent back to your card within 5 to 10 days (a trial simply ends, and nothing is ever charged). Founding Members give up the founding price when they cancel; coming back later means the regular price at that time. Your data stays for 30 days so you can export it or pick a plan and carry on, and after that it is deleted. Export all business data on the same page (and in its own card at the bottom of the Team page) downloads one zip with a README and a CSV for each of your leads, notes, quotes, agreements (every signed one also as its own text file), invoices, payments, bookings, texts, emails, time entries, team, and job photo links, so nothing you put in is ever stuck here. Team members get the same button and receive exactly what their access lets them see. One export per business every 10 minutes.
