Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions owners ask most.
Do my clients need an account to accept quotes or pay invoices?
No. Quotes and invoices open from a secure private link, with no login and nothing to install. They click, view, and accept or pay.
What does HoundBell cost?
Plans run $49 to $199 per month after a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Bigger plans add seats, businesses, and team-scale extras, and every plan includes unlimited leads, forms, quotes, contracts, invoices, and bookings. See the pricing page. When a client pays an invoice by card, Stripe’s standard processing fee applies (2.9% plus 30 cents in the US); that fee goes to Stripe, not HoundBell.
Can I add more businesses on the Agency plan?
Yes. Agency includes 5 businesses, and the Billing page lets you add more at $29/month each ($290/year on annual billing), prorated instantly. See the full billing guide.
Do my booking pages show a “Powered by HoundBell” badge?
On the Agency plan the “Powered by HoundBell” footer disappears from your booking pages automatically; trials, Starter, and Team show it. See the full billing guide.
Where does the money go when a client pays?
Directly to your own Stripe account and on to your bank. HoundBell never holds or touches your funds.
Can I use HoundBell with more than one website?
Yes. Connect as many WordPress sites as you like to a workspace; each form chooses which site it appears on.
Can I manage multiple businesses or clients?
Yes. Create a workspace per business. Each has its own leads, forms, branding, and Stripe connection, switched from one dropdown.
Can clients book appointments from my website?
Yes. Add a Date field to any form and it renders as a booking calendar that shows only your real availability. Requests wait for your confirmation, both sides get a reminder about an hour before, and your Google or Apple calendar stays in sync. See Bookings from your website.
Can clients sign contracts electronically?
Yes. Build a service agreement from a template for your trade and your client signs by typing their legal name on a secure page, no account needed. The signer’s name, time, IP address, and device are kept in a locked audit trail, and one click turns the signed agreement into an invoice. Templates are general forms, not legal advice; have a licensed attorney review agreements for your business. See Contracts.
Can HoundBell ask my customers for Google reviews?
Yes, if you turn it on. Save your Google review link in Branding and a polite request goes out a couple of hours after an invoice is paid or a booking finishes. Each client is only ever asked once. See Automatic review requests.
Can I get my data out?
Anytime. The Leads page exports your leads (with every form answer) to CSV with one click, and statements print or save as PDFs.
Is my data safe?
Your data lives in a secured cloud database with per-workspace access controls, served over encrypted connections. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe, a certified payment processor; card numbers never touch HoundBell.
Does the plugin slow down my website?
No. The plugin is lightweight and only does two jobs: render your forms and deliver submissions over a signed, secure connection. There are no iframes and no embedded third-party scripts on your pages.
What happens if I delete a lead?
The lead and everything attached to it (notes, quotes, invoices) are permanently removed. That is why deleting requires typing “delete” to confirm. Won revenue history from paid invoices you deleted goes with them, so export first if you need records.
