Connect HoundBell to Zapier

The official HoundBell Zapier app puts your events one click away from thousands of other tools. Available on the Team and Agency plans (and during your trial). While the app is in early access, email support@houndbell.com for your invite link; once you accept it, HoundBell appears in your Zapier account like any other app.

Connect your account (one time)

1. In HoundBell, go to Branding, scroll to the Webhooks card, and find Zapier & API access at the bottom.
2. Click Generate API key, then Copy key right away. The key is shown exactly once, at creation; for security it is stored the way passwords are and can never be displayed again. If you ever lose it, click Regenerate for a fresh key (then reconnect Zapier with the new one, since the old key stops working immediately).
3. In Zapier, create a Zap and choose HoundBell as the trigger app.
4. Pick your trigger event: New Lead, Quote Accepted, Invoice Paid, Booking Confirmed, or Contract Signed.
5. When Zapier asks you to sign in, paste your API key. The connection shows your business name when it works.

Two things worth knowing

• Managed webhooks. When you turn a Zap on, HoundBell automatically creates a webhook for it. You’ll see it on the Branding page’s Webhooks card labeled Managed by Zapier. Leave those alone; deleting one turns off its Zap’s deliveries.
• Map chips, not text. When mapping fields in Zapier, always pick fields from the Insert data panel so they appear as small chips. Typing a field’s name as plain text sends those literal words instead of your lead’s real details.
