Spam protection
Every HoundBell form ships with three invisible protections, all on by default with nothing to configure.
The honeypot and rate limiting
A hidden honeypot field catches bots (real visitors never see it, bots fill it in and are refused), and rate limiting blocks floods of submissions from the same source.
Smart screening
Every submission is screened before it becomes a lead. Impossible names and email addresses are refused outright. Entries that look suspicious but might be real still arrive, tagged possible-spam with the reasons listed on the lead card, so a genuine customer is never lost and junk is one tag filter away from a bulk delete.
Phone numbers that have to be real
Phone fields validate before the form submits: a country code menu with flags (US first and default), a stray leading 1 stripped automatically, US numbers formatted as (555) 123-4567, and impossible numbers never reach you.
