Instant estimates on your form

Give visitors a price before they submit. Attach pricing rules to any form’s dropdown, pick-many, number, or checkbox fields, and the form shows a live “Estimated: $340 to $390“ box that updates as they answer, right above the Submit button. The lead that arrives is tagged estimated, shows the estimate on its card, and already has a draft quote built from the rules that fired, ready for you to review and send.

  1. Open the form in the builder and find the Instant estimate panel.
  2. Turn it on, set a base price, and choose whether visitors see an exact number or a range (a range hides the exact price while still giving a real ballpark; you pick how wide it is).
  3. For each eligible field, attach a rule:
  • A dropdown or pick-many field can price per option (“2 bedrooms“ adds $40) or apply a percent adjustment (“Weekly“ takes 20% off).
  • A number field prices per unit (“$0.10 per square foot“).
  • A checkbox field adds a flat amount when checked (“Inside oven cleaning“ adds $40).
  1. Set an optional minimum job price, and edit the disclaimer line shown under the estimate (it defaults to “Estimate only. Your final quote may change after we see the job.“).
  2. Try it with the panel’s own sample answers, which recompute the estimate live so you can sanity-check the math before publishing.
  3. Save & publish. The estimate box appears on the WordPress plugin (2.3.0 or later) and the universal embed code automatically; nothing else to configure on the website side.

The number a visitor sees is only a preview. The real estimate is always computed on HoundBell’s server from what was actually submitted, so nobody can inflate or deflate their own price by editing the page. That same server-side number is what lands on the lead and what the draft quote is built from.
