Deposits and no-show fees on invoices
Where: Settings, Hours and booking, Deposits and no-show fees card. Full booking page behavior is in Deposits and no-show fees.
Turn on a deposit and every booking request through your hosted booking page holds a card before you have confirmed anything. When you confirm the booking, HoundBell automatically charges the deposit and it shows up as a paid invoice on the client’s record, the same as any other payment: it counts toward revenue, lands in Books, and syncs to QuickBooks if you use it.
- In Settings, choose a deposit mode: off, a fixed dollar amount, or a percent of the service.
- Optionally set a flat no-show fee.
- Save.
If a client does not show up, open that booking and click Charge no-show fee. It bills the same card the client used to request the appointment and records the charge like any other payment. Since there is no client account to log into, there is also nothing for the client to remove the card from; the hold stays until you act on it or the booking is completed.
